TODDLERS are being invited to sign up for new ballet classes in Sheffield.
Beighton-based Noodle Performance Arts is launching ballet tots – dance classes for youngsters from walking age up to the age of three.
Nikki Johnson, Noodle director, said: “Ballet Tots is the latest addition to our classes.
“We started out just offering performing arts, but I received lots of enquiries about ballet classes which is when I brought Jess McVeigh on board. She is a qualified ballet teacher and has developed our ballet programme.
“I then found I was receiving lots of requests for classes for much younger children than we had originally catered for.
“We initially lowered the age group for our performing arts classes to two, but many parents wanted ballet, which is how ballet tots came about.”
The first class takes place on Monday, at Beighton Lifestyle Centre, while sessions are also planned in Dronfield and Ecclesall, with further classes to start after Christmas in Totley and Eckington.
Nikki, a building society regional manager until she launched Noodle a year ago, said: “The classes involve music, singing and ballet activities. The activities will prepare children to go on to our Noodle Ballet classes from the age of three.”
