JOB hunting is providing the inspiration for the latest exhibition at the Doncaster Community Arts group.

The 18-month project – called Real Skills for Real Opportunities - was officially launched at The Point by MP Rosie Winterton.

The theme of the project is tackling the issue of barriers to employment in a time of recession.

Artist Dave Gillan has used views comments gathered from local people and employers at creative workshops to create an enormous sculptural installation.

Suspended in the double height gallery at The Point, it will allow the audience to wander through the space and explore both the visual and interactive elements within, listening to real residents’ experiences of trying to find work in Doncaster.

Lucy Robertshaw, arts development manager at Darts said: “This unique approach is giving potential employees and employers the opportunity to engage, interact and find out more about each other’s needs and the real route to employment.”
