‘Missing’ sculpture left by Sheffield United star’s grave

A carved sculpture of a horse’s head which went missing from a Sheffield cemetery has been found.

The horse’s head was installed in Burngreave Cemetery by its Friends group on Sunday, September 1 .

However, a week later the sculpture went missing.

However, the horse’s head was later located in another part of the cemetery – close to the grave of famous former Sheffield United footballer, William ‘Fatty’ Foulke.

Dave Yates, from the cemetery’s Friends group, said: “Perhaps the horse was a secret Blade. We’ve no idea who moved it but are grateful it hasn’t left the cemetery.”
