Budding Gok Wans can learn how to look chic on the cheap when a self-confessed fashion addict stages her first workshop.

Budding Gok Wans can learn how to look chic on the cheap when a self-confessed fashion addict stages her first workshop.

Sheena Brabazon reckons she’s the north’s answer to Gok Wan and wants to pass on her creativity to help women across Sheffield learn how to look stylish on a budget.

Her Evolution Accessory workshops teach how to use accessories imaginatively and how to transform basic garments into a stylish outfit.

Sheena says: “I started modifying outfits in my early teens, experimenting with accessories, partly because the style I liked wasn’t available on the high street and because I’ve always had to manage on a tight budget.

“With the rising cost of living, new fashion accessories are low on a woman’s shopping list. I believe that there’s never been a better time than now to help women look good for a fraction of what they’d normally spend.”

Sheila’s first workshop runs this weekend at her home in North Anston.

Glam ladies go to the dogs

It’s ladies’ day at the dogs tonight.

Owlerton Greyhound Stadium is staging its glamorous annual charity event.

And if you still haven’t got your outfit because you’re reigning in your spending, follow the advice of fashion and beauty author Bethanie Lunn and channel charity shop chic for the event, staged in aid of Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity.

Research has revealed that on average ladies spend £1,000 on their outfits for the races, whereas the average charity shop outfit can be put together for as little as £25.

Bethanie - who judged last year’s best dressed competition - is confident this year’s prize could be scooped by a charity shop treasure.

Staff at Weston Park Cancer Hospital Charity Shop have a display of elegant dresses and hats perfect for Ladies Day guests.

Six Pack tickets for the event are still available at £10 on 0114 234 3074.
