Updates on the fight to save Broomhill Library will given at today’s general meeting of the suburb’s Forum, to be held at St Mark’s Church on Broomfield Road at 4pm.
Although the proposals are still being opposed, campaign group members are also looking at plans to turn it into a co-operative.
There will also be a call from MP for the area Paul Blomfield to set up closer links between different parts of his Sheffield Central constituency, so people in Broomhill can support those in Manor and Wybourn.
Debbie Matthews of the Manor Castle Development Trust will explain what work is already taking place in her area.
PFI contractors Amey will be giving an update on roadworks in the Broomhill area, while air quality and tree preservation plans for Broomhill will also come under the spotlight.
Plans on rethinking energy saving measures for older properties will be discussed, with reports too on latest developments from the University of Sheffield, the hospitals, retailers and residents’ groups.
