1. Evening Nativities in the Farmyard

Chatsworth House, Today, December 15, 6pm

Bring the family along to Chatsworth House for the famous farmyard nativity plays, starring Chatsworth’s own animals. Your children may even have the chance to dress up and be a part of this timeless seasonal story. You do need to pre-book tickets for these performances.
Please note that tickets for evening performances admit visitors to the farmyard from 4.30pm so you have an hour and a half to play before the nativity begins. Please contact the venue for prices.

2. Celebrate Christmas at Hardwick

Hardwick Hall, Today, December 15, 11am – 3pm

Two floors at Hardwick Hall will be open each weekend in December celebrating a 1930’s Christmas house party. Enjoy family activities and join friends and family in the new Great Barn Restaurant, which will be open throughout the winter, for a delicious seasonal meal. Also, buy Christmas trees and gifts from our shops. This event is free however admission fees to the venue may apply.

3. Charity Santa Fun Run

Hillsborough Park, Tomorrow, December 16, 11am – 1pm

Bring your family and friends along to Hillsborough Park on Sunday the 16th for a Charity Santa Fun Run. It will be a 1.5km charity run or work for families and friends to raise funds for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice. All adult participants will receive a Santa costume and all children will receive reindeer antlers and nose to wear. This is a fun day out for all the family and it’s for a great cause.

4. Sharrow Vale Christmas Market

Sharrow Vale Road, Tomorrow, December 16, 12pm – 4pm

The Sharrow Vale Christmas Market is a wonderful day out for the family with 80 stalls of gifts in artwork, crafts, vintage and retro, cards, foods and more. Traditional music and carols to played throughout the day, funds to local charities. Santa’s Grotto for the little ones and chance for all to browse the Month Of Sunday Gallery for a gift from artist Pete McKee’s range of work from mugs to original paintings. No admission fees.

5. Carols by Candlelight

Sheffield Manor Lodge, Discovery Centre, Monday, December 17, 7pm – 9.30pm

Book your tickets early for the very popular Carols by Candlelight event. This is an evening of new and old carols for everyone to join in with. This event is a full evening of entertainment and a taste of Christmas past. There will be mince pies and mulled wine which is included in your ticket price of £6. Booking is essential for this event.

6. A Christmas Carol

Whirlow Hall Farm, Wednesday, December 19, 5,30pm – 6.30pm

Outdoor Theatre Company the Pantaloons come to Whirlow Hall Harm with their hilarious, fast-paced adaptation of Dickens’s festive favourite A Christmas Carol. With a cast of just four actors, this production is sure to put a smile on even the glummest face (even Scrooge’s). Everyone will love the interaction, the fun nature and the lively music of this performance. It really will be something a little different this Christmas. This event will take place in the barn at Whirlow Hall Farm, so wrap up warm! Hot chocolate and mulled wine will be available on the night to create a cosy atmosphere. Admission fees for this event: Adults £8, Child £5.

7. Carols Round the Tree

Wentworth Castle Gardens, Friday, December 21, 5.30pm – 8.30pm

Come along to Wentworth Castle Gardens the Friday before Christmas and join the torch-lit precession with Worsborough Brass Band from the visitor car park to the courtyard at 6.30pm. Carols around the tree will start from 7pm. There will be refreshments available and the gift shop will be open. There is no admission or parking fees.

8. Santa Cruises – Sheffield & Tinsley Canal

Victoria Quay Sheffield Canal, Saturday, December 22

Bring the little ones along to Santa Cruises along the canal. The cruise is £11.95 per person the price includes meeting Father Christmas, a present for each child, a glass of mulled wine or tea/coffee for the adults, mince pies, biscuits and fruit juice for the children. There are 4 different times you can attend the Santa Cruise: 11.30am, 1pm, 2.30pm and 4pm. Please book your place in advance.
