Hearts were pumping at a charity Danceathon in Sheffield in aid of the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund.
Young and grown-up dancers from the BM Myers School of Theatre Dance boogied away to the Macarena, Gangnam Style and Saturday Night to raise funds for the cause.
They were inspired to raise cash because dance school pupil Jodie Brocklebank’s brother was diagnosed with two holes in his heart when he was born and needs ongoing medical attention.
Holly Wilde, school principal, said: “There was a good atmosphere and all of them seemed to have a good time.
“We did all sorts of party dances and the kids all seemed to enjoy themselves, which is the main thing.”
The event has raised about £300 so far and donations are still coming in –the BM Myers School of Theatre Dance runs lessons on Mondays and Tuesdays in Stannington and Wednesdays in Wisewood.
