A Mother’s Day card is already making a Barnsley woman’s day...
An image taken by keen amateur photographer Collette Mellor is to appear on cards the length and breadth of the country.
It was picked from hundreds by card company Hallmark in a competition to find images of what motherhood meant to women.
Hallmark run the contest in support of their Cards for a Cure Campaign, which each year contributes £250,000 to breast cancer research.
After seeing her card for the first time, Collette said: “I hope it will bring a smile to the face of any mum that receives it this Mother’s Day.”
This year, there is another chance to have a greetings card published, but this time Hallmark is looking for messages rather than pictures.
The nation is being encouraged to tell their mums just how much they mean to them via a virtual mums’ wall.
Entries can be uploaded at http://cardsforacure.hallmark.co.uk/ until Mother’s Day on April 3. The five messages which get the most votes will be turned into cards and the overall winner receives a weekend break.
