Capital scarves

Have your say

A designer who launched her business from her parents’ kitchen table in High Storrs is fast gaining recognition in London.

Yaelle Caplan began designing her luxury silk scarves after graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2010 and fast found her creations featuring in Vogue’s fashion blog and Stylist magazine.

Now she’s been commissioned by Mayfair hotel Dukes to design and create scarves for its female staff.

Yaelle, aged 24, came up with an elegant design peppered with contemporary, hand-drawn images inspired by objects and furnishings at the hotel – from mirror frames to the house champagne.

Danger: red alert

Almost half of women reveal they wear red when they feel most confident and want to be noticed.

On the flip side, 45 per cent of women reveal they turn to black when they want to fade into the background, according to a Kellogg’s Special K survey.

Holly Willoughby topped their poll of celebrities who look the most confident wearing red, with Cheryl Cole and Kelly Brook closely behind.

The survey also revealed women are most confident about their bodies when they are aged exactly 52 and two months.
