Yorkshire artists Ashley Jackson and Graham Ibbeson visited Cusworth Hall, Doncaster, again to inspire a new generation of artists with a free master class on watercolour and sculpture techniques.
Children from schools around Doncaster were able to see how an artist learns to look closely to capture the atmosphere of a rainy day or the facial expression of a young child.
They also had time to view finished paintings and sculpture by both artists captured in the aptly titled exhibition ‘Opposites Attract’, which runs until June 2.
Ashley said: “I know from my own experience as a young boy believing in yourself is extremely important, sometimes it takes a positive act from someone else to reaffirm how good we really are.
“My mum and stepfather didn’t support my love of art, but I was fortunate to have a good art teacher and an old lady who owned the shop from where I bought my art supplies. They were instrumental in making me the artist I am today.”
