A painter from Sheffield has helped youngsters brush up on their artistic skills after going back to school to help in the classroom.
Artist Joe Scarborough, from Pitsmoor, visited Ballifield Primary School, Handsworth, Sheffield, where he worked with some children and also led an assembly.
Visiting student teachers, at the school for three weeks as part of an exchange from Georgia, America, were also able to meet the well-known painter.
Sheila Haigh, headteacher, said: “The children have been having a lovely time recently. It’s been exciting for them to work with Joe, as we have looked at his work in school.
“He has been doing some work with our Year Five classes and also an assembly so he has spoken to all of the children about art and design.”
The visiting students toured UK landmarks as part of their trip – Ms Haigh said: “They were given a taste of Sheffield’s creativity as well.”
