Beautiful gardens and eye-catching art have been growing together for a decade – and will launch in Sheffield again today.

The 10th popular Art in the Gardens event is to get under way at Sheffield Botanical Gardens with a special preview event from 6.30pm.

Artists lined up include Sheffield’s Pete McKee, Joe Scarborough and sculptor Simon Kent as well as new talent and established artists attending from across the country.

Billed as the north’s ‘biggest outdoor art and crafts show’, it also includes a children’s area and musical entertainment over the weekend.

Coun Isobel Bowler, cabinet member for culture, sport and leisure at Sheffield Council, said: “Every year we look forward to this fantastic event and this year we celebrate the 10th year since it was first conceived. “Exhibitors come from all over the country and this is a real opportunity for people to snap up a piece of original art, with tastes and prices to suit everyone.”

The event will run from 10.30am until 5.30pm on Saturday and Sunday with admission costing £6.

Children aged under-16 go free.
