Talented singers from across the country are set to perform at Sheffield’s David Clover Festival of Singing next month.

More than 30 entrants aged from just nine will perform in different classes during the festival, from Friday to Sunday, February 7 to 9.

It has been organised every year since 1980 by the City of Sheffield Teachers’ Choir in memory of Mr Clover, who was the city’s music advisor to the education department.

This year’s performers include Opera North singer John Savournin, the English National Opera’s Elizabeth Watts and Radio 2 young chorister of the year Ella Taylor.

The festival finale will take place on February 9 at 6.45pm at Sheffield’s Holiday Inn Royal Victoria Hotel – for details, call Di Hallatt on 0114 249 0402.
