Vena Amoris Valentine candle

Vena Amoris Valentine candle

It’s got to be a relic from the Hammer House of Horror’s props department.

Or a joke cigarette lighter for the Mafia hit-man who’s got everything.

Wrong on both counts, flower. It’s an ‘exceptional work of art,’ one of three ‘exquisite, limited edition pieces’ from posh London home store Charles Burnand designed to ignite passions on Valentine’s Day.

The Vena Amoris Sculpture Candle is supposed to tap into the ancient belief that a vein ran directly from the fourth finger of the left hand to the heart.

The flame burns down the palm’s love line; it’s yours for £128.

OK, all women love candles. But imagine tearing open the love-heart wrapping paper on February 14 to find one cunningly disguised as a severed waxwork hand?

The other two ‘exquisite, limited edition pieces’ include the Goat Leg taper and the Bust of Deirdre.

Can’t really be Mrs Barlow’s stringy decolletage... can it?
