Barnardo’s is appealing to women to do a pre-Christmas blitz of their wardrobes and donate unwanted partywear to its shops.

The charity is keen to receive party dresses, tuxedos and suits which can be resold for Christmas and New Year Balls, as well as unwanted uniforms and vintage clothes which are popular for fancy dress parties.

All money raised in its shops is used to support children and young people in Yorkshire.

Barnardo’s Area Business Manager, Lindsay Harris, said: “We always need people to donate party wear to our shops at this time of year. Anything that glitters or shines is perfect, that little black dresses that no longer fits, those shoes that you just can’t walk in or something that you bought in the sales and never found the occasion to wear.”
