A TENNIS club in Rotherham served up an ace when it received a £50,000 grant from Sport England towards a scheme to promote the sport.
Rotherham Moorgate Tennis Club will use the cash to resurface four courts and provide floodlighting to three.
Club chairman Paul Burgess said: “We are delighted to secure the grant, which will enable us to upgrade the quality of our tennis courts to match the aspiration we have to be the best resourced and most welcoming tennis club in the Rotherham area.”
Rotherham MP Denis MacShane said: “This is a fantastic achievement for the club who can now put their dreams of developing the facilities into practice.
“This club has an impressive legacy and I am delighted it now has the means to go from strength to strength.”
