A CHARITY shop which has raised over £250,000 for Sheffield’s Weston Park Hospital in nine years has moved premises.

Friends of Weston Park Cancer Care shop, at Rawmarsh Shopping Centre, has closed and was to reopen today on Rawmarsh Hill, Parkgate.

Volunteers who run the shop had to box up all the stock and for the move because of plans to redevelop the shopping centre.

Cynthia Kelly, who has worked at the shop since it opened, said staff and customers were sad but hoped the new premises would be just as well-supported.

“We are worried because there is no parking at the new shop but the old one has always been really well supported, so we hope this will continue,” she said.

“We have raised well over £250,000 which we are really pleased with.

“Everyone knows someone with or who has had cancer, so tour fundraising is invaluable.”
