A toast was raised to the redevelopment of Sheffield’s Park Hill flats at the launch of a new beer inspired by a piece of graffiti at the site.

Thornbridge Brewery created the strawberry blonde ale ‘I Love You Will You Marry Me’ - named after graffiti scrawled on a bridge at the flats - for the Park Hill Presents event, coinciding with Sheffield Design Week.

More than 1,500 people visited the flats for the launch of the week of events, as well as sampling a range of street food and drinks during a special version of Sheffield’s Peddler Market.

Developer Urban Splash has spent a further £18million on developing the next batch of 182 one, two and three-bedroom apartments going on sale at the site.

Simon Gawthorpe, the firm’s managing director said it was ‘an ideal way to reintroduce many to Park Hill’.
