Bottoms up to beer festival

Have your say

More than 80 real ales, lagers, fruit beers, ciders and a dash of Henderson’s Relish… The University of Sheffield Students’ Union Beer and Cider Festival is back.

Organised in conjunction with the Students’ Union Real Ale Society, the 2014 event promises to be the biggest yet - and it is open to the public.

Held at the Raynor Lounge, the Beer Garden and the Interval Bar at the Students’ Union building in Western Bank, the festival runs from May 2 to 4, from 2pm till midnight.

As well as the drinks - complete with a German themed bar stocked with steins of Pilsner on the Friday - there will be a Sheffield theme for the Saturday, with meat pies and the city’s favourite condiment, Hendo’s.

And on Sunday it’s Pig and Cider Day, with a free range hog roast served by Roneys of Sheffield.

There will also be live folk and acoustic performances throughout the festival performed by some of the area’s best up-and-coming musical talent.
