A Doncaster band are set to make their festival debut alongside big hitters Fleetwood Mac and Blur today.
Bang Bang Romeo will appear on the Jack Daniels Rocks stage as part of the prestigious Isle Of Wight festival.
The band share a line up with world class acts including Fleetwood Mac, The Black Keys, The Prodigy, Paolo Nutini, Pharrell Williams, Billy Idol and Counting Crows.
Guitarist Ross Cameron said: “It’s a dream come.
“The festivals one of the biggest and most magical in the world. And to be joining a lineup with one of our favourite acts Fleetwood Mac headlining, we are just all so excited”
Lead singer Anastasia Walker said: “It’s just amazing. We’ve had to keep pinching ourselves and have been waiting for the announcement to make it all feel real.
“The local support for the single over the past fortnight has been phenomenal and we’ve had amazing feedback and reviews from as far away as Brazil, Japan and South Africa! This is just the icing on the cake of incredible few weeks, we are so grateful”.
The band have experienced a whirlwind month, with new single Johannesburg being playlisted by XFM after various national radio airings.
Johannesburg released at the end of April was Bang Bang Romeo debut release since signing to MadClubOfTwo Records in December 2014.
Having premiered as “Shock of the New” on XFM it has been described as “Huge” and “like a hard edged Fleetwood Mac”.
The song is the first in a trilogy of tracks that will go on to comprise the soundtrack to a mini-film that the band have been out filming in the desert’s of southern Spain, with each individual track and video containing part of the overall story.
Bang Bang Romeo had initially exploded onto the radar in 2014, with debut e.p We Were Born produced by the legendary Chris Kimsey of Rolling Stones and INXS fame. Receiving widespread critical acclaim.
Following on from the festival the band are set to perform at The Old Blue Last on July 20 and Tramlines Festival on July 25.
