You can't complain about rail travel...

WHILE I was sitting in my local rail station waiting room I heard two ladies discussing how awful train travel was, with one deciding that trains down south were 'superb'.
I was quite shocked by this, considering how much time, effort and investment has gone in to local rail services.

People should remember the fantastic achievements so far – free local tram, train and bus travel for all senior citizens and disabled people in the county. Reliable trains, with staff on hand to offer assistance. More and more purpose-built staffed interchanges.

People who work in the rail industry in the south tell me South Yorkshire has a fantastic system, with more and more monies being pumped into the infrastructure.

Certain individuals will complain, no matter what.

Sounds as if Patrick has just been issued with a set of "rose tinted spectacles" by SYPTE. I travel regularly on our local transport system and, frankly, apart from Supertram its poor.

Our local train to Huddersfield rattles on behind "Pacer" units and, the other day,the "express" between this once great nations third and fourth cities was left in the dubious hands of a single, very crowded coach.Down South would that happen?

Wake up, in stead of saying how good things are demand better.

Try using the so called services, they would be a joke if it was funny!!!! I used to use the lincoln line to get to spalding but eventually gave up.I sold my house in sheffield and moved to Lincolnshire as a direct result of the stress caused by using rail services. Central trains were actually the worst culprits, but northern rail were not far behind them in the table!!!!
