ON behalf of Marie Curie Cancer Care can we thank all the wonderful people in South Yorkshire who have volun-teered their time to Marie Curie Cancer Care in 2008.
Every evening 280 people throughout the UK will open their front door to a Marie Curie Nurse who has come to help them at the time that they need it most, helping to make it possible for terminally ill patients to spend their final days in the comfor
table and familiar surroundings of home.
Having celebrated National Volunteers Week earlier this month, we would like to take this opportunity to once again thank the amazing people who give up their time to help us raise vital funds that are needed to provide more home nursing care. So to every single one of our fantastic volunteers who help out in the local fund-raising office with us, collect and look after collecting tins for us, put posters up in their local community for us, organise their own events in aid of us, who register to run, cycle, trek, parachute or zip for us and to everyone else who supports us in every other way - we want to say a massive thank-you!
This year is the Marie Curie Cancer Care 60th anniversary. We simply could not have reached this significant milestone without the amazing hard work and commitment of our volunteers. Only with their continued support can we go on providing the highest quality care to people with terminal cancer and other illnesses.
We are always looking to welcome new volunteers to Marie Curie Cancer Care, so if any of your readers are interested in volunteering with us, please contact our local fund-raising office on 0114 279 3010.
