ARE parents against the merger of Wisewood and Myers Grove schools now going to be listened to after Sheffield Labour lost control of the city council? I urge the Lib Dem councillors to stop the merger proposals.
The Save Our Community Schools proposals are:

Keep both schools.

Get 'foundation' status for both – creating some independence from the council.

Make them 'federated schools' so they work closely together and have economies of scale.

Implement the proposing group's ideas within them including sixth form at Myers.

Re-apply for funding for rebuild/refurbishment.

Let's stop this merger and have two great schools.

Lucy, Hillsborough
(parent and SOCS member)
