WE felt we had to write to thank you for the tremendous support we received from The Star regarding our new venture - Matchventure Speed Dating for Fab, Fun over-Fifties!
We knew there was a demand for our service but your fantastic, positive coverage enabled us to reach the people of Sheffield, and their response has been terrific.

We were able to present a cheque from the proceeds of our first speed-dating event at the Beauchief to Cavendish Cancer Care.

We've loved your reporting ... it was warm and informative, of course, but perhaps more importantly it aided us in enabling some of Sheffield's vibrant, fab over-fifties to socialise and celebrate in style!

Picking up on your coverage, Radio Sheffield invited us on to talk and -perhaps most wide-reaching of all - BBC's The One Show are interested in featuring us!

But it all began with you and is testament to the power of Sheffield's local newspaper.

Thank you again.
Kate Holmes and Moya Reilly
