MILLIONS have watched the nine week marathon of singing in Last Choir Standing and cannot help but be amazed at the dedication, enthusiasm and musicality that the choirs have produced.
Thousand of ordinary people from all walks of life, postmen doctors, managers, students, pensioners, housewives and the disabled have shown us the pleasure of using their voices in song.
Singing really is for all. Though some say I can't sing and
I've no voice, yet for the vast majority of people singing is totally practical. Nature has provided us with the vocal equipment needed.
The health and well-being benefits of singing are well known and many health organisations advise their patients to take it up. This country has enjoyed singing in all its forms for generations: we sing as children, we sing in patriotism, we sang in war, we sing in sadness, we sing in worship.
This area is blessed with many choirs and music groups who would welcome you. Try it you will be amazed and you will undoubtedly give pleasure to many.
