NOT so very long ago a letter writer lamented on how The Star gave preference to councillors' letters. Utter garbage! If it wasn't for the Star the general public would never know of problems.
Some ex-council tenants are having their homes brought up to a decent standard; surely this is not right. The responsibility of one's council home should rest on that person's shoulder and not on the Sheffield council's.

Pete Godfrey, Grayson Close, Stocksbridge S36.

Don't talk about what's right Mr Godfrey.Single tennants living in big three bedroom houses is not right,on benefits or not. They should be moved to a dwelling suited to them, families should be allocated family homes.Tennants don't want the responsibilty and worry of buying and maintaining a home. The decent homes is funded by the taxpayers of Europe, most occupier-owners are taxpayers. So don't worry Mr Godfrey it's not coming out of the rent coffers.

If we all though like you diddi

When my children left home, my wife and I moved out of my 3 bedroom home to allow a family perhaps have the pleasure of having a garden for their children

We moved into a pensioners flat and modernized it our self’s with a new kitchen and bathroom believing it was the final move in my life.

But in the last 8 years 7 known drug user/pusher have been housed directly below. Making our life’s a utter hell with the stench of cannabis along with loud music.

Housing benefit fraud is rampant, beautiful properties are wrecked and vandalized because there is an everlasting cheque book from this council with no deterrent at all from the yob or druggies

I did what was natural in the circle of life, but my advise to any pensioner is never ever trust this evil council or government for they can and will only destroy
