REGARDING Chesterfield's ugly/neglected buildings (Now & Then, August 2).
Sheffield has its fair share of neglected/ugly buildings. I would like to nominate the old Heeley Bridge post office on London Road as Sheffield's most neglected building. It's a disgrace, but I'm sure your readers can suggest many other Sheffield buildings that are eyesores.

Ann, Woodseats, Sheffield.

To Add

I have several youngsters that have sent e-mails to the Parks Department asking questions about the Busk Meadows Park. This was many weeks ago. The Council cannot even reply to these children. Maybe they cannot handle the shame that kids know better.

Maybe we should employ the kids.

Over the years the City has been subject to too much "bog-standard" architecture....and when asked to produce something different what do we get? We had the "egg-box" which has been replaced in our affections by the "cheese grater".. Little wonder people were sad to see the loss of two cooling towers!
