IS IT not time the city of Sheffield had its own TV station?
Why should Leeds and Manchester have it all when everyone knows that Sheffield is the capital of the North, tha no'es, so bring it on, kid.

I remeber,

Sheffield 15/10/2008 08:56:30
Sheffield did have its own TV station. Many yaers ago there was CABLEVISION operated by British Relay who provided some areas of Sheffield with their TV signal by means of a cable running from house to house (like an early Telewest). They used an spare channel to broadcast serveral hours of 'entertaiment' a week
I remember one year they broadcast the Lord Mayors parade by putting a camera on both sides of a vehicle, it was strange watching people go by. Their studios were on Matilda Street near the junction of St Marys Road
Ah the good old days of early colour

And of course we used to have a Calander studio at Charter Sqaure

Does anyone remember the trade test transmissions on BB2 when you came home from school?

Ronnie
