Shattering a few stereotypes

WHAT have the Manor Estate, Sheffield and today's children and young people in common? A bad press!
Recently, however, I had anexperience which shattered the poor reputation of both.
Having missed my bus home from Manor Top, I was walking along the edge of a playing field on the Manor. There were a handful of children kicking a ball around. Half way along the path I fell. Before I could get up I was, to my horror, surrounded by children.
Imagine my relief and delight when I realised that far from being mugged, I was being helped to my feet, asked if I was OK and asked by one youngster with a mobile phone if he could ring anyone.
It is only a minority who get an area or group a bad name. Why can’t we hear more about the good things that happen instead of the bad?
