Sand bags on road before an accident

IF ONE is motoring on the A616 from Langsett towards Stocksbridge, about 300 yards before the Midhopestones crossroads, after any rain there is always a huge lake of water on the road and motorists often swerve to avoid it!
My wife and I recently witnessed a nasty collision there. Can the highways department place some sand bags at the base of the bank? If it helps avert any accidents, it would be all to the good.
