Road named after watercolour artist

A READER asked about Charles Ashmore Road: it was originally called just Ashmore Road until 1931 when it was renamed in the memory of Charles Ashmore 1851-1925, a watercolour artist who came from Birmingham to live at Norton.
Some of his drawings were included in the book Chantreyland, depicting local scenes and churches etc, published in 1910 by Harold Armitage.
