Angela Smith thinks it would be irresponsible to keep both Myers Grove and Wisewood schools open.
She is mistaken.

Let's look ahead a few years. According to the local authority's own forecasts, in September 2016 there will be 368 children entering Y7 from the current Myers Grove and Wisewood catchments.

The proposed new school will have an admission number of 210.

This means that 158 children may be denied the opportunity to attend their catchment secondary school.

The Proposers' Group clearly thinks it a good idea to build a new school with significantly fewer places than children living in catchment. I think this is irresponsible.

The responsible option? Maintain, refurbish and rebuild two schools.
Darren Webb, Marlcliffe parent
