Gone are the days when as a child my mum taking my sister and me to stand outside Pauldens (Debenhams)getting pushed to the front so we little one's could see, for at least half an hour before the start of the Lord Mayor's parade, all the excitement of hearing the bands making the way down, waving at the floats and cheering at our armed forces bands. And comming home with our paper flags, balloons and carrier bags filled with goodies, it seemed to go on for most of the afternoon. I didn't even know we had, had the parade, this year.
