REGARDING my Penalty Charge Notice No FD79584435. Sheffield Council's response to my suggestion of compensation and interest and a doubling of the penalty - as per their penalty structure - was to send me a cheque for £30. This is derisory.
However, as accountants will say, the cost benefit ratio on this matter is negligible and so, by making an illegal demand for cash (the refund proves this) of £30, Sheffield City Council have obtained, at my expense, interest on money obtained illegally.
