The poem by Honorary Doctor of Sheffield Hallam University and Poet Laureate Andrew Motion on the side of the Owen Building on Howard Street is part of Off the Shelf's highly successful Text and the City Project which aims to put poetry in public places.

We were delighted that the Poet Laureate agreed to write a piece for Sheffield, a great honour for the city, but previous poetry and public art pieces have included words by a number of Sheffield writers including Berlie Doherty,

Richard Hurford and Jarvis Cocker. The next piece to be unveiled in June features work by local poet Chris Jones. We are pleased to say that Ian McMillan will be a guest at this year's Off the Shelf in October.
