WE are a team of five businesswomen who have teamed together to stage two fund-raising floral-themed charity shows in aid of PACT (Parents' Association of Children with Cancer and Tumours).
We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of local businesses in Ecclesall Road, Dore and Totley who have donated floral-themed prizes for our events.
Floral ImPACT photographer Tracey Welch thought she was starring in a remake of 'Some Like it Hot' when she accompanied Paul Iseard of The Famous Sheffield Shop on a photo shoot at the Botanical Gardens who walked up Ecclesall Road in 'flower power' character.
Paul donned long blonde wig, sunglasses and sunflower in his hair for our poster campaign to raise awareness of the local charity within Sheffield Children's Hospital.
Our first event is on Wednesday July 30 at 7pm at The Walnut Club in Ecclesall Road. Each show features clothes by local eco-couture Hope&Glory designer Elizabeth A Edwards, floral artwork by Wendy Carlton and models' bouquets by Sarah Turpin of flowersforlaura.com whose daughter Laura died of leukaemia at just 19-weeks-old.
Funds from both events will go towards cancer research and supporting the work of PACT House which offers a 'home from home' for children undergoing cancer treatment and their families.
The £5 admission fee goes direct to PACT and there is also the chance to boost funds by sampling the floral themed elderflower jelly with panecotta ice cream and a Poinsettia cocktail - orange juice, cranberry juice and champagne.
Our second fashion show is within the Art in The Gardens event on Sept 6 and 7 at The Botanical Gardens.
