Don't spend tax on Mayoral dinner

I TOTALLY agree with the views of Marlene Guest, and that of Rotherham's two BNP councillors: the sole purpose of the council is to provide Rotherham people with a proper, efficient and value for money service. This council fails on all accounts.
A council spokeman says the cost of a mayoral dinner will be met from the civic budget.

The council spokesman says: "This dinner is... not just for councillors, but also for people from the wider community."

I am awaiting my free pass to this meal. Council tax is not for this kind of thing.
Charles Spencer, Cowper Drive, Herringthorpe, Rotherham
