I AM very concerned to hear that more Vardy schools are being considered for Doncaster. One may say that Sir Peter Vardy is to be admired for his philanthropic investment in our schools however what I find unpalatable is, for his 10per cent investment (we the tax payer stump up the remainder plus running costs and salaries), the Christian Fundamentalist Vardy schools control what is being taught including, it seems, literal biblical creationism in science lessons (for those of you wh
In 2001 Steven Layfield the science teacher at the Vardy-run Emmanuel College in Gateshead gave a lecture at the school. It can be found on the internet. If you care about your children's minds then read it. Thorne Trinity Academy is achieving good standards academically but if my child was to be a prospective pupil I would be interested to know how they fare in other area.
