I FEEL I must write to you about the utter chaos at the Graves Park event on Bank Holiday Monday.
I set off from home to watch my granddaughter, Liegh, compete in the show jumping. Although I set off in good time to get there, I joined a traffic jam coming off the Norton roundabout.

We moved so slowly that by the time I got into the car park, I had 10 minutes to get in before she went in the ring. When I saw the one and only entrance to pay, the queue was already right back to the car park. I went to one of the barriers and asked the woman on the gate if I could just go in and take a photo of Liegh before the class finished and give her a hug because we don't see much of each other with her parents working and her schooling.

What do you think? Post your comment below.

I said she could watch me all the time and I would come back out again. She said it was more than her job was worth to let me through the barrier.

Liegh's mum came to the gate and pleaded with her but, she was so hard-faced.

I am 72-years-old, my granddaughter is 12. There we were, on either side of the barrier, and couldn't touch each other. While we stood there, she allowed the family, including children of the Scottish band players to walk through.

I was one old lady on my own and she turned me away.

I went home leaving my family very upset. I would just like to say to the woman on the barrier that she has missed her vocation, she would make an excellent prison guard.
