I WOULD like to send my congratulations, and those of Partnerships for Schools, to all the students and teachers at Chaucer Business and Enterprise College in Sheffield for their tremendous exam success.
This year has been the most successful in the school's history, with the number of students who were awarded five or more GCSEs at grades A* to C, including English and Maths, up from 18pc in 2007 to 22pc this year.
The diligence
and commitment of the students, and the dedication of the teaching staff, must be applauded. As one of the first schools to be refurbished as part of the national Building Schools for the Future programme, I am confident that this significant investment in wonderful new ICT and facilities has also played a role in inspiring these students .
BSF is the largest schools capital investment programme for over 50 years, and by the time it concludes young people across England will all be able to learn in safe, welcoming and inspiring environments fit for the 21st century.
Tim Byles, Chief Executive, Partnerships for Schools
