THE BNP are really letting their 'democratic credentials' show.
Even though a poll several years ago showed 98.9% of Gibraltarians want to remain British, the wretched BNP want the Rock gifted to Spain (apparently the BNP are just as anti-democratic as the LibLabCon).

Moreover, Spain's claims to the Rock are s
purious. Sovereignty was granted to Britain under the Treaty of Utrecht 296 years ago.

Using BNP logic, Britain should be demanding the USA back from Obama, assuming we wanted it of course, because that particular colony was wrested from our control only 233 years ago.

Spain always forgets to mention its own enclaves in Morocco (Ceuta and Melilla), where I understand they are unwilling for Gibraltar-style polls to be held so that the view of voters might be established on independence from Madrid.

Yes. I do have a vested interest. I am half Gibraltarian myself!

An interesting if flawed look at history. We have also occupied the Balearics, Heligoland, Corfuas well as much of France.... so why shouldn't we be asking for them back as well. Gibralter is a "strategic" spot, hardly a colony requiring vast quantities of aid. Just why it should still have any strategic value to this bankrupt nation of ours, in this day and age, is beyond me. A nation with more Admirals than ships.

Might I suggest before villifying Mr Griffin you get to hear what he REALLY said..
Mr Griffin made no mention of giving Gibraltar back to the Spaniards, what he said was he would rather see a Spanish flag flying over Gibraltar than a Muslim flag and so would I any day.
To give back our (British) territory is something ALL BNP members would fight to the death for, like some of us did in the Falklands.
Another example of the bigoted press and how they twist what has been said.

You've made the story up again. Its a pack of lies as at no point has the BNP ever said it would like to hand Gibralter to the Spanish, merely that they would prefer it to belong to Spain than to the North African Muslim Maghreb. Get your facts write before you pretend to call yourself a journalist.

Mind you, both UKIP and BNP have got their snouts in the European trough even though they say they oppose it! Bigots AND hypocrites.

I suppose waywood wind could technically be correct - some people may class me as a foreigner as my ancestors only arrived on these shores in the 11th Century but I've always worked - never relied on the state so I'm not the duck egg - you are
