STEVE Munn and Randy Dagenais - twin titans of Sheffield Steelers' defence - have formally confirmed they will complete their second year of two-year contracts with the club.
They joined Steelers last year in conjunction with the University of Sheffield, where they are taking MBA degree courses.

Steelers' general manager Mike O'Connor said: "A lot of people have asked me about these two guys, whether or not they would be returning. It was always the case that both were here for two years, and we hope a lot longer if last season's form is anything to go by.

"They are leaders on the ice and in the dressing-room. They brought a lot of good things to Steelers, we were only able to attract two such great players because of our tie-in with the university. There isn't any way we are letting either go."

Dagenais commented: "Most of the guys have departed back home since the play-offs. However Steve and I are completing our first year at the university so we're here longer.

"We enjoyed a great year with Steelers, ending with that amazing Play-off Champion-ship victory. As Canadians the play-offs are everything to us but all the locals say it's the league that counts in the UK.

"It looks like we will have to stick around another year, then to find out what winning that feels like!"
