STEELERS' first pre-season games of 2008-9 have ended in double defeat.
But they have done enough against well-drilled German team Bietigheim this weekend to show they are going to be a force in the Elite League this term.
Tonight (Sun) they lost 3-1 at iceSheffield, Joey Talbot scoring.
It follows a 6-2 defeat to the same team on Saturday.
But the hard work and gritty effort displayed through every line is clearly a quality that coach Dave Matsos is demanding from this point onwards.
