STEELERS pride themselves in being the championship winning team with a true team-spirit.
But that's only during the ice hockey season!

No sooner had the ice melted, defenceman Ian Manzano hatched a plan to get one over blue-line buddies Mark Thomas and Steve Munn.

All three were taking part in a fun-run at Graves Park, Sheffield with an unspoken agreement to canter over the line together.

But says Manzano: "Steve was hobbling behind, still feeling the effects of a knee injury, as we approached the line. I pointed out something to Mark - he turned his head away - and I sprinted over, arms in the air, in first place!"

Canadian Manzano, who turns 31 this Saturday, today returned to north America with his wife and newly-British born daughter. He awaits news on whether he is to be offered a third year contract with the club.
