SHEFFIELD STEELERS will compete the formalities of becoming Yorkshire Cup champions tonight.
A 10-4 win yesterday (Sat) over Hull Stingrays - whose ponderous defence was no match for the visitors' speed-kings - means Steelers should coast through tonight's second leg.
Jeff Legue, Joey Talbot and Ryan Finnerty all knocked home a brace while there were singles for Ashley Tait, Nathan Gillies, Doug Sheppard and Jonathan Phillips.
There were decent contributions from second-string players goalie Dan Green and 10th forward Andrew Sharp.
Hull's Paul Moran went to hospital with a suspected dislocated shoulder and is expected to keep him out for several weeks.
Coach Dave Matsos said: "Our goals were spread around, and that's our strength, you can't just try and shut one line down and we have another two that will hurt you."
Barring any injury catastrophes, Steelers should romp through tonight's concluding session (Arena 6pm.)
Other Saturday friendlies: Dundalk Bulls/Hawks Select 0 Belfast Giants 10
Cardiff Devils 4 Manchester Phoenix 3
Newcastle Vipers 2 Coventry Blaze 3
