DAVE Matsos has returned to Sheffield after summer back home in Canada - but he did some late shopping before he set off!
Coach Matsos has signed Canadian brawler Andrew Sharp from EPL side Romford Raiders.

He iced 19 times for Raiders last year, scoring just a single assist but chalking up 156 penalty minutes.

Sharp, who also played once for league champions Coventry Blaze, is 6ft 1ins and 205lbs. He is not thought to be in the enforcer class of the likes of Jeremy Cornish, Brad Voth or Andre Payette, but he will be a tenth forward who gives Matsos some options.

Sharp, aged 24, from British Columbia, has signed a two-way contract with Sheffield Scimitars, but wants to spend as much time in the Elite League as possible.

Steelers' general manager Mike O'Connor said: "Matty (Matsos) has arrived to start things going at this end and is pleased to have got Sharp as a tenth forward.

"The player will give us some toughness that, perhaps, we will be needing in the league next season. We look at Sharp as a deterrent."
