JEFF Legue will emerge as the import star of the Elite Legue next year, says Steelers teammate Jason Hewitt.
He believes that the Canadian will be a better, more consistent performer in his second term in Sheffield.

"He had an unbelievable latter part of last season" recalls Hewitt.

"Earlier, he'd had an injury that had put him back but once he got ba
ck in his stride he was excellent.

"He is a good skater, as quick as anybody in the league, and has one of the hardest shots I have ever seen.

"When he comes back and is in his second year, in familiar surroundings, I think he will be even more effective."

Hewitt set himself a 25-point goals and assists target last season, failing by just three points (12+12 in 62 games.)

"I came just short last year but hopefully I can continue to develop this coming season" said the winger.

"There is pressure to improve every year, but I don't mind that at all."

Hewitt said he was sorry to see linemate Warren Tait leave; the fellow Brit has just been signed by Sheffield Scimitars.

"He is a nice lad, but that's the nature of the game. Dowdy (Robert Dowd) needs to step up, he is really talented and I think he will impress a lot of people."
