Dan Tessier - unhappy at being sacked this Summer by Sheffield Steelers - plans to get his own back...in the colours of arch rivals Nottingham Panthers.
The brilliant Canadian centre was released by coach Dave Matsos despite leading Sheffield to a Play Off Cup final victory.
With speculation about his character and ability to get on with team-mates, Matsos decided to prematurely end what was thoug
ht to be a two-year relatioinship.
Now Tessier, who slammed Matsos and the Steelers high-command when the axe fell, is back at Nottingham, a team he himself walked out on once for Swiss team Lausanne.
He only got the position there because Coach Corey Neilson's plans to bring in Chris Richards were blown apart at the last minute.
Panthers fans, like many sports supporters, are fickle.
While they hated him last year - they'll love this this!
Tessier said: "I'm pleased to be back and I can promise the fans I will be doing the best that I can for the Panthers."
The forward is a goals and assists machine. And his return to the Elite League will furhter up the tempo between Steelers and Panthers.
