EX STEELERS enforcer Jeremy Cornish will get his chance for revenge after being sacked by coach Dave Matsos.
He has signed for Elite League rivals Basingstoke Bison for the 2008-09 season.
Cornish was devastated after being released in favour of Dan Tessier, who, ironically, was also cut this Summer.
The enforcer felt he had done everything that had been
asked of him.
Now he gets the chance to try and run amok against a Steeler team which has general toughness but no out and out fighter.
The 28-year-old ended the year playing for the Bloomington Prairie Thunder in the International Hockey League.
His split season saw him score seven goals as well as racking up 287 minutes in penalties from 75 games.
Bison head coach Ryan Aldridge said: "Corny will definitely bring some more toughness to the line-up and he is player no one wants to play against and I am sure he will be become a firm fans favourite.
"He knows what his role is on the team on the ice and is a great guy off it. He will be playing on the third line with the two Brits and I am sure they will benefit from having him out there with them."
Newcastle Vipers have added to their squad by signing former NHL defenceman Chris McAllister.
