Woodland fire threat

FIREMEN have spent the night tackling a "deep-seated" woodland blaze on the outskirts of Barnsley.
At one point crews had to evacuate the area on Yews Lane, near buildings owned by Yorkshire Traction, because the heat was causing electric cables to arc.
Yorkshire Electricity engineers were called isolated the power so firemen could tackle flames which were first spotted around midnight
The fire was on open land and didn't affect property.
